Chinese Ships Collide with Philippine Vessels, During Clash in South China Sea

The Filipino government has accused Chinese ships of ramming and damaging its vessels in the South China Sea during a clash in the waters off Second Thomas Shoal, where a contingent of Filipino troops is stationed.

“The People’s Liberation Army Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, and Chinese Maritime Militia vessels engaged in dangerous maneuvers,” declared Manila’s national task force on the West Philippine Sea.

“Their actions jeopardized the lives of our personnel and damaged our vessels.”
